About Perthshire Highland Games

Perthshire Highland Games Association, with the support of what was then Perthshire Tourist Board, was formed in 2003 to support and assist the organisation and promotion of Highland Games in Perthshire and the surrounding areas.

Fourteen Highland Games covering the length and breadth of Perthshire in the heart of Scotland are now members. The Games season runs from May to September and the PHGA organises Leagues in the Heavy events, Highland Dancing and Junior Piping. The PHGA is an Associate Member of the Scottish Highland Games Association and most of our Member Games are also members of the SHGA.

Training days organised by John Robertson are held January, February, March and mid-season by established world class athletes. The PHGA is also involved with the SHGA in the setting up of a training structure for Heavy events from Primary School through to competitive athlete. To further our grass roots training programme, PHGA was awarded a SPORTSMATCH grant for 2009 by the Scottish Sports Council www.sportscotland.org.uk .

The PHGA is delighted to announce that PSPC Ltd is the sponsor for the Heavyweight league; Piob Mhor of Scotland is the sponsor for the Dancing league and the Highland Bagpipe Company is sponsor for the Junior Piping League for 2012. The Leagues will be renamed to reflect the sponsorship.
